Chiefs defensive lineman BJ Thompson was reported to be unconscious but in stable condition after suffering a seizure and going into cardiac arrest at the team facility. Thompson’s agent, Chris Turnage, provided an update after visiting him in the hospital, stating that while BJ is still unconscious, his vitals are good and he is stable. Turnage also asked for continued prayers for Thompson from the public.

Thompson had the medical emergency during a team meeting, and the Chiefs’ medical staff acted quickly to treat him before he was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance. As a result of the incident, the Chiefs decided to cancel their Thursday practice, with plans to resume practice and media availability on Friday.

The defensive lineman, who was a fifth-round draft pick last year, only played in one game as a rookie. Thompson’s condition remains a concern, but it is reassuring that he is in stable condition and receiving medical care.
