The world’s last Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon, has recently fallen victim to theft. The sign that has been pointing customers in the right direction for over 20 years was stolen from the front lawn of the store, according to Sandi Harding, the general manager.
Harding expressed her dismay in a Facebook post, stating that the sign held many great memories over the years and its theft is a sad day for the store. Unfortunately, there was no surveillance camera in place to catch the crime, so they are hoping that word of mouth will help in getting the sign returned.
This isn’t the first time the Bend Blockbuster has been targeted for theft. In the summer of 2023, the video return drop-box was also stolen from the front entry of the store. These incidents have caused frustration and disappointment for the store and its employees.
