The Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Blue Bolts secured their first volleyball win on Tuesday, defeating the Chassell Panthers in three straight sets. After a disappointing loss the previous week, coach Sarah Audette credited the team’s improved performance to their positive attitude and better teamwork. In the first set, the Blue Bolts took an early lead and maintained their advantage, thanks to a strong service run from sophomore Kiera Isaacson. The second set followed a similar pattern, with Isaacson leading the Blue Bolts to an early lead and the team never looking back. The Panthers put up a fight in the third set but were ultimately outplayed by the Blue Bolts, who adjusted well and did not let the lead affect them. Despite the loss, Chassell coach Kim Aho was impressed with her team’s improvement in digging and passing, leading to more kill attempts. The Blue Bolts will now travel to face the Wakefield-Marenisco Cardinals, while Chassell will compete in the Baraga Invite on Saturday.
