Bolton Wanderers have announced that Cameron Jerome, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, and Declan John will be leaving the club at the end of their contracts next month. The team was defeated by Oxford in the League One play-off final last weekend. Bodvarsson, a 31-year-old Iceland striker, joined Bolton in January 2022 and scored 25 goals in 94 appearances. Meanwhile, Jerome, 37, signed an 18-month contract with the club in January 2023 and recently scored important goals in their promotion chase. John, a 28-year-old Wales international, will also not be offered a new deal after making 92 appearances across four seasons with Bolton.
In other news, Bolton have triggered extension clauses in the contracts of 21-year-old goalkeeper Luke Hutchinson and midfielder Nelson Khumbeni. Hutchinson and Khumbeni will remain with the club, with Khumbeni having been on loan at Morecambe last season. The team is making changes to their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.
