On a Wednesday night in Foxboro, legendary quarterback Tom Brady was inducted into the New England Patriots Hall of Fame. The event was emotional, with thousands of fans, friends, and ex-teammates gathering at Gillette Stadium to celebrate Brady’s 20-year career with the team. Brady’s family, including his father Tom Brady Sr., was also present for the induction ceremony.
Before the induction, Brady Sr. spoke with NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran about what the night meant to him and the Brady family. He described the experience as “surrealistic” and “incomprehensible,” noting that they could never have imagined such a spectacular event for his son.
As the 199th overall pick in the 2000 draft, Brady brought six Super Bowl titles to New England and earned multiple MVP awards. He holds numerous franchise and league records and left a lasting legacy on the team. Despite leaving the Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, Brady’s induction marked the official end of an era in Foxboro.
For Brady Sr., the night was bittersweet as he reflected on the journey his son had taken with the Patriots. He expressed gratitude for the highs and lows, the friendships made, and the joy experienced over the past two decades. Seeing his son receive such a warm reception was both surprising and heartwarming, as he remembered Brady as the little-known 199th pick in the draft.
Brady is the 35th inductee in the Patriots Hall of Fame, joining a prestigious group of legendary players. Other Hall of Famers, including Willie McGinest, Vince Wilfork, Ty Law, Drew Bledsoe, Troy Brown, and Matt Light, were in attendance to honor Brady’s contributions to the team.
