The Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting applications and nominations for several awards, including the Business Excellence Award, Business Legacy Award, and Lakes Proud Small Business Award. Interested parties must submit their materials by May 31st at 5 pm. A committee will then review all applicants in June, and winners will be presented with their awards at the Celebration of Excellence annual dinner on November 16th at Kuragans Resort on Gull Lake.
The Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Riverwood Bank, presents the highest honors to individuals who have achieved extraordinary business success during their lifetime. The aim is to recognize inspiring leadership that goes beyond business and leaves a legacy of community and economic vitality for future generations. To be eligible for the award, individuals must be current or retired Brainer-Drakes regional business leaders with a minimum lifetime contribution of 30 years. They must also be current or former members of Brainerd Lakes, Pequot Lakes, and Crosslake Chambers.
The Lakes Proud Small Business of the Year Award recognizes small businesses that embody the spirit of entrepreneurship, pride, and success that forms the backbone of the local economy. This award is presented by Cub Foods and is open to Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce businesses employing up to 20 team members. Applicants must possess attributes of leadership, innovation, investment in employees, and community service. To be eligible, a business must have fewer than 20 employees, be in good standing with the Chamber of Commerce, and be physically located in the Lakes Brainerd area. Potential applicants are encouraged to verify eligibility with the Chamber of Commerce before completing an award application.
Annually, the Chamber of Commerce also recognizes companies that excel in their entrepreneurial spirit and performance through the Business Excellence Award. This award, presented by Hy-Tec Construction, spotlights one Brainerd Lakes Chamber of Commerce member company that embodies attributes such as leadership, innovation, investment in its employees, and community service. To qualify for the award, companies must be a member of the Chamber of Commerce, be physically located in the Lake Brainerd area, and have at least 25 employees.
