Jul 1, 2024

Linn County Public Health and Together! Healthy Linn are organizing two town hall meetings where community members can share their views on the health of our community. These meetings are part of the Community Health Assessment (CHA) process, which occurs every three years. The feedback received during these sessions will help shape the health priorities for the 2025-2027 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

The dates and times for the town hall meetings are as follows: Thursday, July 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Community Room at Lester Buresh Community Wellness Center in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and Wednesday, July 17 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Fairfax City Hall in Fairfax, Iowa. Residents who are unable to attend these meetings can also provide feedback through two surveys.

The food security survey aims to gather information on the current state of food security in Linn County and identify ways to enhance access to food resources. The community violence survey is focused on residents’ views on safety and security, which will help in developing violence prevention strategies for the community. Both surveys will be open for responses until July 31, 2024.
