The 19-year-old has been granted permission to negotiate personal terms with Brighton as he considers a move within the Premier League. Despite turning down an offer from Lyon in France, Minteh is eager to make the switch to Brighton.
While Everton have also shown interest in Minteh, they were unable to come to an agreement with Newcastle over a potential swap deal for England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin last weekend. The proposed move to Brighton would come as a significant development for Newcastle, as they aim to sell at least one key player before the end of June to avoid any breaches of Premier League financial regulations.
Minteh had an impressive season on loan with Feyenoord, scoring 10 goals in 27 league games and even finding the net against Celtic in the Champions League. Despite being signed by Newcastle from Odense in Denmark last June, Minteh has yet to make an appearance for the Magpies’ first team.
