Bronx EDC’s Small Business Challenge Provides Aid to Bronx Business

Earlier this year, the Bronx Economic Development Corporation made an exciting announcement that they would be giving funding to five businesses through their first-ever BX Factor Small Business Challenge. One of the lucky recipients of this funding was Green Canvas Productions, a production company based in the Bronx. Winning this challenge was a much-needed boost for Green Canvas, as they were struggling to secure the necessary capital and cash flow to demonstrate their viability as a business.

Gregory Hernandez, the owner of Green Canvas Productions, expressed his gratitude for the funding, stating that it can be difficult for businesses to access the resources they need to succeed. Out of over 100 participants who applied for the challenge, Hernandez was one of the five finalists selected to receive financial support from the Bronx EDC. This support will enable Green Canvas and the other recipients to further their work and make a positive impact on the Bronx community.

Thanks to the funding from the BX Factor Small Business Challenge, Green Canvas Productions will be opening a new studio in Port Morris on July 1. This studio will be available for rent for photo shoots, commercials, music videos, and more. This will not only provide a space for creative projects to flourish but also create opportunities for economic growth and development in the Bronx.
