The Phillies are facing a road trip to Chicago and Atlanta without Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and J.T. Realmuto, but all three are showing progress in their recoveries from injuries. Harper and Schwarber were seen hitting in the batting cages at Wrigley Field, while Realmuto did receiving drills and hit on the field for the first time since his surgery. The trio also jogged, with manager Rob Thomson noting that they are making strides and could potentially return soon.

Harper and Schwarber were placed on the injured list last Friday and are first eligible for activation on July 9, when the Phillies open a six-game homestand. Realmuto, who underwent right knee surgery, is expected to follow shortly after. The team has been coping without them, managing to win games despite their absence.

Although the Phillies have experienced a little bit of a slump recently, losing one game of ground to the Braves, they still hold an eight-game division lead. Players like Nick Castellanos and Trea Turner have stepped up in the absence of key players, delivering crucial performances. Their contributions will be key in navigating the team through the upcoming games with a short-handed lineup.
