The Phillies are facing a tough road trip without Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and J.T. Realmuto. However, there is some positive news as all three players are making progress. Harper and Schwarber, dealing with hamstring and groin strains respectively, hit in the batting cages at Wrigley Field. Meanwhile, Realmuto, who underwent right knee meniscectomy surgery, did receiving drills and hit on the field for the first time since his surgery.

Manager Rob Thomson provided an update on Harper and Schwarber, stating that he believes they are not far away from returning. Although no specific date has been set for their return, it is expected to be in the next couple of days. Both players could be eligible for activation on July 9 when the Phillies begin a homestand.

As for Realmuto, Thomson mentioned that his return could come post-All-Star break but emphasized that he is a quick healer. The Phillies have managed a decent record despite missing key players, with Realmuto missing 19 games and the team going 10-9.

Nick Castellanos and Trea Turner have stepped up in the absence of key players, providing crucial contributions for the team. The Phillies will rely on their performances over the next week to 10 days as they navigate a challenging part of the schedule with several key players out.
