After eight seasons with the Giants, veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard is making a move to a new NFL team. According to reports from Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Shepard is set to sign with the Buccaneers today. At 31 years old, Shepard will bring his experience to Tampa Bay as he reunites with quarterback Baker Mayfield, his former teammate at Oklahoma.

Shepard and Mayfield played together at Oklahoma in 2015, with Mayfield in his first year as the team’s starting quarterback and Shepard serving as his top wide receiver. This connection could give the Buccaneers offense a boost as they work together once again at the professional level.

Despite playing in 15 games last season, Shepard’s performance left something to be desired. He only caught 10 passes for 57 yards, causing some concerns about his productivity moving forward. However, with a history of success with Mayfield, Shepard may have the opportunity to prove himself and secure a spot on the roster in Tampa Bay.

As Shepard joins the Buccaneers, he will need to compete for his place on the team. With his skillset and familiarity with Mayfield, Shepard has the potential to make a positive impact and show that he still has more to offer on the field.
