Reports indicate that Alessandro Buongiorno is interested in joining Napoli under the leadership of Antonio Conte, despite Torino’s insistence that he is not for sale. The young centre-back, who came up through the ranks of Torino’s youth academy, is seen as a future captain for the club. Despite interest from other top clubs like Milan, Atalanta, Juventus, Inter, and Tottenham Hotspur, Buongiorno seems keen on a move to Napoli.
Torino has previously rejected offers for Buongiorno and President Urbano Cairo recently stated that the player is not on the market. However, reports suggest that a bid of €50m could tempt the club into a sale, similar to the Gleison Bremer deal with Juventus. Napoli’s current offer is €35m, and there is a considerable gap between the two sides. Buongiorno may play a crucial role in pushing for a move away from Torino.
In the meantime, Napoli is exploring other defensive options for Conte’s system. Negotiations are ongoing for Mario Hermoso, a free agent who requires a commission of around €5m. Additionally, interest has been reignited in Rafa Marin from Real Madrid as Napoli looks to strengthen their defensive lineup.
