Business returns to port as Dali sails out of Baltimore

After being trapped for two months under the wreckage of the bridge it had destroyed, the Dali finally began its journey out of Baltimore following another month of being docked at Seagirt Marine Terminal. The ship made its way through the Fort McHenry Channel, passing below where the Ley Bridge once stood, before sailing under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge a few hours later. A crowd of onlookers gathered at Sandy Point State Park to witness the massive ship passing by, with many, like Stephen Swann from Davidsonville, expressing their awe at its size. Swann had set up camp at the park in order to secure a front row seat after hearing about the Dali’s voyage on the news.
