Cuyahoga County has been recognized by the League of American Bicyclists as a Bicycle Friendly Business, joining over 1,300 businesses nationwide working to enhance bike-friendly environments. County Executive Chris Ronayne expressed pride in the recognition, highlighting the county’s commitment to promoting cycling as a sustainable and healthy transportation option. The county was awarded a Silver Level Bicycle Friendly Business designation for its efforts to improve cyclist safety.
The League of American Bicyclists commended Cuyahoga County and other new and renewing Bicycle Friendly Businesses for their investments in promoting bicycling both in the workplace and in the community. Executive Director Bill Nesper emphasized the importance of collaboration in building a safer and more bike-friendly America. The list of recognized Bicycle Friendly Businesses includes a variety of establishments, from government agencies to bike shops.
Annie Pease, the county’s senior advisor on Transportation, emphasized Cuyahoga County’s dedication to creating a safe and accessible environment for cyclists. Through initiatives like Cuyahoga Greenways, the county is actively working to make it easier for residents to engage in transportation modes that promote wellness and environmental protection. As a recipient of the Bicycle Friendly Business award, the county now has access to resources and support from the League of American Bicyclists.
