Caleb Manuel, a resident of Topsham, recently finished his final season playing for the University of Georgia golf team. He is preparing to reveal his plans for his professional golf career at a press event scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at the Bill Dodge Auto Group in Brunswick.
During the final round of the 104th Maine Amateur Championship golf tournament in 2023 at Samoset Resort Golf Course in Rockport, Caleb Manuel was seen blasting out of the bunker and onto the third green. At only 22 years old, Manuel has an impressive golf resume, having played in the 2022 U.S. Open and being a three-time Maine Amateur Champion. He made history last year by becoming the first player to win three consecutive Maine Amateur championships since Mark Plummer. Manuel has also had a successful college career, playing for both the University of Connecticut and the University of Georgia, and participating in numerous NCAA Championships and other notable amateur events.
During the upcoming press event on Friday, Manuel will announce his conditional tour status and what that means for his tournament schedule this summer, as well as any potential future PGA Tour events. He plans to express his gratitude to his supporters and discuss his sponsorship plans as he transitions into the professional golfing world. The event will take place at the Bill Dodge Auto Group located at 118 Pleasant St., Brunswick.
