The battle for L.A. just became a family affair as Cam Christie was selected with the 46th pick in the second round of the NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. This exciting draft pick adds to the Christie family legacy in the NBA, as Cam’s older brother, Max Christie, was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers two years ago with the 35th pick in the 2022 draft.

Cam Christie expressed his gratitude and excitement at being NBA brothers with Max, saying, “It means a lot. It’s super cool to be NBA brothers. It’s really dope.” He also acknowledged the support and lessons he has learned from his older brother, and looks forward to competing against him in the NBA.

The Christie brothers will now join a list of siblings currently playing in the NBA, such as Cody Williams and Jalen Williams, Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball, and Jrue Holiday, Justin Holiday, and Aaron Holiday. Yahoo Sports’ NBA draft analyst Krysten Peek gave the Los Angeles Clippers a B+ grade for selecting Cam Christie in the draft.

Despite receiving late first-round buzz during the pre-draft process, Christie fell to the second round due to inconsistencies during the season and limitations as a playmaker. He has shown promise as a perimeter shooter with a 39% shooting average from 3-point range, but will need time to develop his skills at the NBA level. Last season, Christie averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists for the Minnesota Gophers.
