Cornerback Cameron Sutton is making his return to the NFL after being released by the Lions in March. The warrant for his arrest issued in Florida was resolved, allowing him to pursue playing in 2024. After meeting with the Steelers in April, Sutton is set to meet with them again on Wednesday. Reports from Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette indicate that a deal is expected to be reached, marking Sutton’s second stint with Pittsburgh.

Sutton was originally a third-round pick by the Steelers in 2017 and spent six seasons with the team before his brief time in Detroit last season. The resolution of the battery charge that led to his release from the Lions was through a pretrial diversion program. This allowed Sutton to move past the incident and focus on getting back on the field.

As Sutton’s return to the NFL looms, his experience and skills will surely benefit the Steelers’ defense. His familiarity with the team and potential for success make him a valuable addition as Pittsburgh looks to strengthen its roster for the upcoming season. With this new opportunity, Sutton is determined to make the most of it and continue his professional football career on a positive note.
