Green tea is known for its high antioxidant content, which can be beneficial for people with hepatitis B. However, there is currently no scientific evidence to suggest that green tea can prevent hepatitis B infection. The transmission of hepatitis B is similar to HIV, occurring through blood, sex, and from mother to child. The World Health Organization estimates that around 7.8 million people in Vietnam are living with hepatitis B, making it a leading cause of cirrhosis and liver cancer. Despite this, the diagnosis and control of the disease remains low, increasing the risk of cancer.

To prevent hepatitis B infection, it is recommended to get vaccinated, practice safe sex, maintain personal hygiene, and avoid sharing items that may have blood on them. If you do not have antibodies to the virus, it is important to consult a doctor and get vaccinated as soon as possible. Depending on your husband’s infection status, the doctor may advise different vaccination regimens to provide protection against the virus.

In addition to vaccination, maintaining overall health is important in preventing and managing hepatitis B. Green and black tea can be beneficial for liver function, but it is important to consume them at the right times to avoid negative effects. Regular health check-ups are also essential for monitoring your health, detecting hepatitis B infection early, and receiving timely treatment when needed.
