The hack that impacted thousands of car dealerships in North America is in the process of being resolved by the targeted software provider, CDK Global. As vehicles are up for sale at an AutoNation Honda dealership in Fremont, California, there has been disruption in business due to the hack. CDK Global announced that it has brought a small initial test group of car dealerships back online, a week after the crippling software outage that affected numerous car sellers across North America.

CDK Global mentioned that they are working on bringing additional applications, such as customer relationship management and service solutions, back online. The company is also resolving the issues faced by dealerships in submitting their month-end financial reports during the system outage. CDK has created a resource center with commonly used documents and forms to support the sales and service efforts of these dealerships.

The software provided by CDK is essential for auto dealerships to manage various activities, from scheduling to records. CDK has already started the process of restoring its software, but they have stated that their systems will most likely not be back online before June 30, which can be a major setback for dealers in a busy car-buying season. CDK has given hope for a fix to the issue multiple times, but then pushed back the timeline for when their systems will be fully operational.

Nearly 15,000 car dealerships across North America have been paralyzed by a systems outage caused by a cybersecurity incident that occurred last Wednesday. Customers and dealerships alike are hoping for a prompt resolution to get their businesses back on track.
