Celebrate World Environment Day in Full Swing

World Environment Day is expected to see millions of people participating in various events worldwide. The host country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will be holding a high-level policy event in Riyadh, featuring a keynote speech by UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen on the theme of land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.

This year, a record-breaking 3,500 World Environment Day events have been registered, aiming to mobilize environmental action to restore ecosystems globally. Activities range from tree planting in the Maldives and Kenya to city murals unveiling in the United States, as well as events in zoos in Ireland, Singapore, and India. These events bring together people from around the world to mark the significance of World Environment Day.
