Celtic have officially tabled a bid of £7.6m for Fenerbahce’s goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, with Ipswich Town also showing interest in the 29-year-old player. In addition, Celtic have completed a couple of undisclosed transfer deals and are prepared to spend money on experienced players to strengthen their title-winning squad.

Rangers may need to wait until the end of pre-season to bring back 22-year-old forward Abdallah Sima, on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, as the Premier League club wants to give their new manager time to assess the squad. Meanwhile, Lawrence Shankland is still a potential option for Rangers to boost their attacking options, with Heart of Midlothian willing to consider a significant offer for the 28-year-old striker.

Rangers seem to be adopting a transfer strategy similar to Celtic’s recent approach, focusing on acquiring moderately priced players who can be developed and potentially sold for a profit in the future. Sandy Stewart, assistant manager at Chenaiyin, suggests that Scottish clubs should explore the Indian transfer market due to improvements in standards as a result of investments in grass roots and youth football in the country.
