The Boston Celtics are looking to bring back Oshae Brissett for the 2024-25 season, as they have signed 11 out of the 12 players who averaged the most minutes per game during their championship season. Brissett is the only player in that group who is currently a free agent, but there is still a possibility for him to return to the team.

According to a report from The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach, the Celtics have one remaining roster spot after re-signing Luke Kornet and Xavier Tillman. Brissett declined his player option last week and is currently exploring his options in free agency. While the Celtics have expressed interest in bringing him back, Brissett is also looking for a team where he can have more playing time.

Brissett played a limited role for the Celtics last season, averaging 11.5 minutes per game and appearing in 55 regular season games. He averaged 3.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per contest. During the playoffs, his playing time decreased to an average of 5.5 minutes per game.

With the Celtics having one of the deepest and most talented rosters in the league, it might be challenging for Brissett to secure more playing time if he returns to the team. However, the addition of rookie Baylor Sheierman could potentially open up some opportunities for him. Brissett made his NBA debut with the Toronto Raptors in the 2019-20 season and played for the Indiana Pacers from 2020-21 through 2022-23.
