The Cambridge Science Centre, a charity dedicated to promoting STEM education, has recently moved to a new home on the Cambridge Science Park. The centre aims to inspire children to explore and enjoy science, engineering, technology, and mathematics through interactive experiments and installations. CEO John Bull emphasized the importance of making science fun and joyful for kids who may not see themselves as future scientists.
Children visiting the centre can engage in hands-on exhibits covering a wide range of STEM topics, from AI to zoology. Six-year-old Cosmo, who visited the centre with his school, described his experience as “pretty fun” and enjoyed playing with the gears. Science communicator Mario Satchwell highlighted the joy of watching children learn and discover new things through science.
The centre, previously located on Jesus Lane, has now found a permanent home in the Trinity Centre within the Science Park. Surrounded by cutting-edge STEM companies, the centre aims to provide a unique and inspiring experience for children, especially those facing barriers to accessing science education. CEO John Bull stressed the importance of igniting young minds and encouraging children to envision a future in science through engaging experiences.
