The city of Charlotte recently announced a new grant opportunity for Business District Organizations (BDOs) operating within the Corridors of Opportunity. Known as the Start-Scale-Sustain (S3) grant, this initiative aims to support and enhance the business districts within the Corridors of Opportunity.
In order to be eligible for this grant, organizations must meet several criteria. They must be registered as a nonprofit with an existing or pending 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 designation. Additionally, they must serve a business district within the Corridors of Opportunity, represent at least 10 businesses within that district, and be an active SAM.gov Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Organizations that do not have a UEI may also apply if they have a fiduciary or fiscal sponsor with a UEI.
Applications for the S3 grant are being accepted until June 14 at 5 p.m. The city will be hosting a question-and-answer webinar on May 16 at 11 a.m. Interested participants must register for the webinar in order to receive a virtual meeting link and submit questions in advance by emailing corridorsofopportunity@charlottenc.gov. For more information on the grant program and application guidelines, please visit the S3 grant webpage.
