A Chicago street made it onto Architectural Digest’s list of the most beautiful streets in the world. DuSable Lake Shore Drive was ranked at number 41 in the list of the “71 Most Beautiful Streets in the World.” The roadway is known for its stunning views, landmarks, and easy access to the city’s Lakefront Trail.

DuSable Lake Shore Drive offers breathtaking views of Chicago’s skyline on one side and Lake Michigan on the other. The roadway passes by famous landmarks like Grant Park, Museum Campus, and Soldier Field, providing a unique way to experience the Windy City. The 18-mile Lakefront Trail runs alongside the busy street, allowing pedestrians to explore the area on foot.

Formerly known only as Lake Shore Drive, a portion of the roadway was renamed in 2021 in honor of Jean Baptiste Point DuSable, a key figure in Chicago’s history. The street was named after DuSable in recognition of his role as the city’s founder.

Some of the most beautiful streets in the world on Architectural Digest’s list included locations in France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, and New York. This recognition adds to Chicago’s reputation as a city with stunning architecture and captivating streets.

In addition to DuSable Lake Shore Drive, another Chicago street was recently recognized on a global level. 18th Street in the city’s Pilsen neighborhood was featured on Time Out’s list of the 30 “coolest” streets in the world. The street’s vibrant array of restaurants, bars, art galleries, and businesses contributed to its unique and lively atmosphere. Time Out highlighted 18th Street’s importance as a main hub for Chicago’s Mexican American community, showcasing the city’s rich cultural tapestry and diversity.
