Chiefs leaning towards keeping Rashee Rice on the team

The Kansas City Chiefs have remained relatively silent regarding wide receiver Rashee Rice following a recent street racing incident that resulted in a six-car crash. Despite calls from some for the Chiefs to end their relationship with Rice, it seems they will not be doing so. Currently, Rice is participating in the offseason program virtually along with his teammates. Whether Rice will be present when the players return to the facility remains uncertain, as coach Andy Reid stated they are taking things day by day.

While the NFL could make a decision that impacts Rice’s status with the team, no action has been taken at this time. Reid emphasized that the Chiefs are allowing the legal process to play out, as Rice currently faces eight felony charges related to the incident. When asked about the team’s trust in Rice, Reid stated that as long as he has learned from the situation, that is what matters most to them.

The team appears to be giving Rice the benefit of the doubt, suggesting they see him as a valuable player who has the potential to learn from his mistakes. However, Reid also acknowledged that sometimes more than just a scare is needed to prevent future reckless behavior. While Rice may face consequences for his actions, it seems the Chiefs are willing to keep him on the roster for the time being, even if he may be unavailable during the upcoming seasons.
