The Chiefs scored 10 unanswered points, resulting in the team’s first lead of the night. The new lead followed the 16-yard connection between Mahomes and wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling after the Chiefs recovered a muffed punt.

San Francisco answered the touchdown just after Ing the 10-yard Brock Purdy touchdown to Jauan Jennings. Linebacker Leo Chenal blocked the extra point meaning the 49ers were now up by three. The play would prove to be key as Kansas City tied the game.

The 49ers reached the Kansas City 35-yard line, leading to an important point in the game.
