The San Antonio Spurs have signed veteran guard Chris Paul to a one-year deal. This move pairs him with rookie of the year Victor Wembanyama. Paul was recently waived by the Golden State Warriors, who would have owed him $30 million for the upcoming season. However, the Spurs will be paying him around $11 million.

Last season, the 39-year-old Paul averaged 9.2 points and 6.8 assists in 58 games with the Warriors. Known as one of the best point guards of all time, Paul has achieved several accolades throughout his career, including NBA Rookie of the Year, NBA All-Star Most Valuable Player, and two Olympic gold medals.

Paul began his career with the New Orleans Hornets in 2005 before playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Phoenix Suns. In 2021, he reached the NBA Finals for the first time with the Suns before being traded to the Warriors.

The addition of Paul to the Spurs roster brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and skill to the team. His presence on the court will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the organization both on and off the court.
