Closing out the season with a bang: Linsley Baseball dominates doubleheader sweep.

The Linsley baseball team wrapped up their season with a doubleheader against the Western Reserves, winning both games 11-1 and 14-2. In the first game, Xavier Fankhouser was dominant, striking out 10 batters and only allowing one hit and three walks. He also contributed at the plate with a double. Jackson Murray had two singles and two RBIs, while Trey Placer and Alex Taylor each had two RBIs of their own. Jack Scoubert, Kyle White, and Jack Selmon all had one RBI.

In the second game, Colin Paul also had a strong performance, striking out eight batters and allowing five hits and three walks to complete the game. Murray and Matthew Scoubert each had two singles, with Scoubert driving in two runs and Murray driving in one. Prather had a two-run single as well.

Wheeling Park suffered a regular-season loss to Dover, 4-3, in a game that went into the ninth inning. Jan Dejenova led Wheeling Park’s offense with three singles and a double, driving in a run. Nate Simon and Quinn Jamison each had an RBI single as well. Wheeling Park will host John Marshall in a W.Va class AAA section contest on Tuesday.

The Maroon Knights of Wheeling Central finished their regular season ahead of Seton LaSalle, winning 7-6 in a game played on late Friday. Koons hit a three-run homer and Luke Tiu added a solo shot for Wheeling Central. Koy Lipinski doubled and drove in three runs, while Braxton Billick had two singles. Wheeling Central will host the Class A Section competition against a hundred today at the JB Chambers I-470 Sports Complex.
