CNBC has launched CNBC Sport, a new vertical dedicated to sports business news. The network recruited sports business journalist Michael Ozanian to join the team as senior sports reporter. Ozanian has nearly 30 years of experience at Forbes, where he was known for his team valuation coverage. In his new role, Ozanian will provide data-driven rankings, breaking news, and analysis of major sports business moves.

Alongside Ozanian, CNBC announced that media reporter Alex Sherman will now cover both media and sports, Contessa Brewer will report on sports gambling, Scott Wapner will interview sports business leaders, and Jessica Golden will report and produce sports content for CNBC Sport. The network aims to cater to an engaged sports business audience and investors in the rapidly growing sports sector.

According to CNBC President KC Sullivan, the launch of CNBC Sport reflects the growing importance of sports in the media landscape. Other media outlets, such as Puck News, have also expanded their sports coverage with experienced journalists. Streaming services like Netflix have also made headlines by including NFL games in their programming. CNBC Sport will provide analysis, updates, and insider insights to help viewers stay informed about the ever-evolving sports business industry.
