Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano is still recovering from a severe injury to his right leg that occurred during Week 5 of last season. Coach Sean McDermott announced that Milano is not expected to be cleared to practice until the team’s mandatory minicamp next month at the earliest. Despite the setback, Milano has been working out in Buffalo and is on track with his recovery. He was seen watching practice from the sideline during the team’s voluntary spring sessions.
McDermott mentioned that Milano may not return to drills until closer to training camp, with the possibility of some limited work before that. Milano has been a key player for the Bills since his rookie season in 2017, earning All-Pro honors in 2022. The linebacker required surgery after breaking his leg and suffering other damage during a game in London last October.
In addition to Milano, starting right tackle Spencer Brown is also being eased back into action after offseason shoulder surgery. The Bills have three more weeks of voluntary sessions before mandatory camp in mid-June, followed by the start of training camp in July. The team is taking a cautious approach with Milano and Brown as they work towards full recoveries for the upcoming season.
