Colchester Secures Goodliffe and Gordon

Colchester United have recently announced the signing of two new players, Ben Goodliffe and John-Kymani Gordon, bringing their total number of summer signings to four. Goodliffe, 25, joins from Sutton United after spending five seasons with the club. He was a part of the team that secured promotion to the Football League for the first time in 2021. Gordon, 21, moves on from Crystal Palace after his departure from the Premier League club.

Both players have signed a two-year deal with Colchester United following the previous captures of goalkeeper Matt Macey and winger Harry Anderson. Colchester boss Danny Cowley expressed his excitement about the new signings, noting that Goodliffe has a passion for the game and a commitment to excellence, which will help improve the team in both defence and attack.

Cowley also praised Gordon for his pace, ability to carry the ball, and his edge on the field, stating that he will be an exciting addition to the club. He mentioned that Gordon’s athleticism will be a good replacement for the recently departed Jayden Fevrier. Gordon had previously been on loan at Carlisle when they won promotion from League Two in 2023.
