Coleman Business Reports Property Damage of $100

Recent activities of the Midland Police Department and Midland County Sheriff’s Office were compiled by Managing Editor Dan Chalk.

At 11:26 p.m., Midland police responded to a domestic verbal dispute in the 700 block of Sylvan. Earlier at 9:03 p.m., Midland police responded to the 2200 block of Jefferson for a report of lost property. A wallet belonging to a 64-year-old man in Homer Township was returned by a deputy after it was found on a nearby roadway at 8:29 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to a Coleman business at 7:51 p.m. for a complaint of malicious destruction of property amounting to $100 worth of damage. Deputies spoke with a 42-year-old suspect from Coleman. By 5:16 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a Jerome Township residence to investigate a delayed report of a criminal sexual assault.

A 31-year-old woman was found to be in possession of a controlled substance while receiving treatment at MyMichigan Medical Center at 4:33 p.m. The matter has been forwarded to the prosecutor. At 3:01 p.m., a deputy spoke with a 51-year-old man who found a handgun after it fell off a moving vehicle. The gun owner, who accidentally left the firearm on the bumper of his vehicle before leaving home, was located. The handgun was returned and the owner was counseled on firearm responsibility.

Midland police responded to a property damage crash at West Indian at Jerome at 1:14 p.m., and earlier at 10:35 a.m., responded to a private property damage crash in the 6900 block of Eastman.

In Ingersoll Township at 8:46 a.m., a deputy spoke with a 60-year-old man regarding fraudulent transactions on his business bank account statement. The man filed a claim with his bank and has been reimbursed for the fraudulent transactions. Managing Editor Dan Chalk covers military events, businesses, and interesting stories in the Midland area.
