Strong to severe thunderstorms are currently moving through the Omaha metro area, impacting the College World Series as well. Omaha Police have advised fans to seek shelter and the CHI Health Center has opened its doors to provide a safe place for those near the stadium or Omaha Baseball Village to wait out the storm. The game has been put on hold due to the weather, with officials announcing a delay around 5:30 p.m. It is still uncertain when play will resume, as of 7:20 p.m.
A Tornado Watch is in effect for the Omaha metro and much of eastern Nebraska and far western Iowa until 10 p.m. Stay updated for further information on the weather conditions. Copyright 2024 WOWT. All rights reserved.
