Comedy Dynamics Acquires Tony Rock Special ‘Rock The World’

Comedy Dynamics announced on Wednesday that it has acquired Tony Rock’s debut special, Rock the World, for release later this year. Rock filmed the special at The Long Beach Laugh Factory, taking a break from his “Rock The Mic Comedy Tour” to do so. In the special, Rock provides a fresh perspective on post-pandemic life, touching on topics such as Black culture, gender, and relationships. Directed by Sam Brownfield, Rock the World has Dana Marshall and Charleston Rock as producers.

In a statement to Deadline, Tony Rock expressed his pride and sense of accomplishment as the release date approaches. He described the project as a monumental endeavor that required countless nights of brainstorming, rewriting, and perfecting every bit. Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of Comedy Dynamics, expressed his excitement for the project and working with Tony Rock.

Tony Rock is a comedian, actor, and producer who has been performing stand-up since the late ’90s. Known as the younger brother of Chris Rock, Tony has starred on CBS’s sitcom Living Biblically and is recognized for his roles on shows like Everybody Hates Chris and All of Us. He has also hosted programs such as HBO’s All Def Comedy, NBA TV’s The Warm Up, BET’s Black Card Revoked, and Apollo Live. Tony Rock is also the founder of the MyROCK Diabetes Foundation, a charity organization in honor of his late father.

Comedy Dynamics has previously released stand-up specials from top comedians like Ali Wong, Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, Jim Gaffigan, and Pete Davidson. The company has also produced successful projects for film and TV, including Netflix’s Daytime Emmy Award-winning series Down to Earth with Zac Efron. Tony Rock is represented by Independent Artist Group and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
