A Georgia couple in Gay, Ga. recently received news that they will be welcoming twin daughters into the world under extraordinary circumstances. Matthew and Breana Dell found out around Thanksgiving that they would be having twins, but the girls are conjoined. The twins, named Amelia and Elhora, are conjoined at the chest and abdomen, and doctors have determined that they cannot be separated.

Upon receiving this news, Breana Dell wrote about the situation, explaining that the twins have a complete fusion of the atrium and ventricles of their hearts, beating as one heart because they essentially have one giant heart. Doctors have also shared that due to their inability to be separated, it is unlikely that they will survive after delivery. Elhora appears to be missing pulmonary arteries, meaning she won’t be able to breathe on her own.

The twins are expected to be born at Northside Hospital in March, and the couple’s family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help offset medical costs for the family. Despite the devastating news, the couple is finding comfort in the belief that their daughters will return to their heavenly home and be with Jesus again.
