From 22 to 26 April 2024, the European Commission will be participating in the Hannover Messe, one of the world’s largest industrial fairs. The focus will be on strengthening the EU’s industrial competitiveness in the global economy. The first day of the fair will feature a conference, presentations, and round tables in the stand auditorium, with each day dedicated to a different theme. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit a support corner to speak with experts about industry-related policies and financing opportunities.
The second day of the fair will be European Energy Day, with the theme of “Clean, accessible and safe energy.” The Deputy Director General of the Energy DG, Mechthild Wörsdörfer, will be participating in the one-day conference, which will cover a range of topics including the EU policy framework, industrial competitiveness in the energy sector, European Wind Energy Package, European Grids Action Plan, biomethane, hydrogen, solar energy, sustainable batteries, and energy efficiency. A session will also introduce a new voluntary initiative, the “Code of Practice on Interoperable Smart Energy Appliances.”
Each of the 8 sessions of the European Energy Day will be streamed on the DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs website. This event is a valuable opportunity for stakeholders to learn about the latest developments in the European energy sector and to engage with experts in the field.
