Continental appoints new head of sustainability for industrial sector

Anne Baarup has been appointed as the new head of sustainability for Continental’s group sector, ContiTech. In her new role, she will oversee the strategic direction and global management of sustainability activities for the company’s industrial business. Reporting to Claus Spille, head of operations at ContiTech, Baarup brings eight years of experience at Continental in various roles including materials technology, HR, and organizational development. Previously, she served as head of material technology solutions for Continental’s tire business, where she focused on promoting the research and implementation of sustainable materials.

Spille commented on the appointment, stating that Baarup will play a crucial role in further developing the company’s strategic priorities and activities in sustainability. Her expertise in materials technology will be essential in ensuring the continued development of sustainable material solutions to address various environmental challenges faced by customers, industries, and markets. The company aims to focus on selecting the right materials, creating recyclable material mixtures, and manufacturing products in an environmentally friendly way. Spille added that Baarup’s experience makes her the perfect fit for the role.
