The upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 is set to showcase the fierce rivalry between India and Pakistan on June 9 in New York. This Group A match is expected to be a highlight of the tournament, bringing back memories of their previous encounter where Virat Kohli played an unforgettable innings. Hosted by the USA and the West Indies, the tournament will kick off on June 1 and culminate in the final on June 29.

However, controversy has surrounded the build-up to the India-Pakistan game, particularly regarding ticket pricing. Former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi criticized the ICC for allegedly prioritizing profits over the promotion of the game in the USA. He highlighted that tickets for the marquee clash are being sold for exorbitant prices, with some sections costing as much as $20,000 per seat.

The ICC has defended its ticket pricing, stating that prices range from $300 to $10,000 for the India-Pakistan match. Despite this, reports have indicated that resale prices for these tickets have skyrocketed. India’s World Cup schedule includes matches against Ireland, USA, and Canada following their clash with Pakistan.

With the historic and emotional significance of the cricket rivalry between India and Pakistan, the anticipation for their match at the T20 World Cup is palpable. Fans around the world are eagerly waiting to witness this highly anticipated encounter between two cricketing giants.
