Ruaridh Dawson originally joined Cornish Pirates in 2019 and has since made 65 appearances for the club in two separate stints. However, the scrum-half will be leaving at the end of the season, following the announcement of Alex Schwarz’s departure earlier in the week.

In light of Dawson’s exit, Exeter hooker Harry Hocking has agreed to join the club permanently next season after being on dual-registration this year. Additionally, fly-halves Bruce Houston and Joe Elderkin, as well as forward Alex Everett, have also secured deals for the upcoming season.

Joint-head coach Gavin Cattle expressed his admiration for Dawson, praising his athletic abilities, service, and kicking game. He described Dawson as a player who embodies the Pirates ethos and will be missed by the team.

This news comes following several other player announcements, with captain John Stevens and winger Robin Wedlake among those who have agreed to new deals this week. As the club looks toward the future, they are focused on building a strong team for the next season.
