Counterattacks threatened by Medvedev on London and Paris

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who currently serves as Vice Chairman of the National Security Council, issued a warning to London and Paris regarding potential Ukrainian attacks using British or French cruise missiles. Medvedev stated that such attacks would not be led by Ukrainians wearing traditional attire, but rather by British and French forces. He indicated that Russia’s response to such attacks may not be limited to Kiev, but could involve special ammunition.

Medvedev’s comments were in response to recent statements made by British Foreign Secretary David Cameron during a visit to Kiev, where he pledged support for Ukraine and asserted their right to defend themselves, even against targets in Russia. This drew protests from the Russian Foreign Ministry, which threatened counterattacks in response to the support provided by France and Great Britain to Ukraine, including the supply of cruise missiles.

Medvedev, known for his moderate and liberal stance during his presidency from 2008 to 2012, has taken a more extreme position since Russia’s aggression against Ukraine began over two years ago. The escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine have raised concerns about the potential for further conflict in the region.
