Charlie Barker, son of former Crawley Town manager Richie Barker, has recently been signed by Crawley Town from Wealdstone for an undisclosed fee. The 21-year-old defender has signed a three-year contract with the Red Devils.

Barker began his career in Charlton’s academy system and made 11 appearances for the Addicks, including three starts in League One when he was just 17 years old. He left Charlton a year ago and went on to play 43 National League games for Wealdstone last season, initially joining the club on loan in October 2022.

In an interview with the club website, Barker expressed his excitement about joining Crawley Town. He stated that as soon as he heard about the club’s interest, he was eager to make the move. Barker also mentioned that he has positive connections with some of the players at Crawley who had only good things to say about the club’s performance last season.

Overall, Barker is looking forward to contributing to Crawley Town’s success and is thrilled to be a part of the team.
