CSI inaugurates a new Transportation Technology Center

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Transportation Technology Center at the College of Southern Idaho was attended by personnel, government leaders, and members of the Twin Falls community. Tiffany Seeley-Case, the dean of general and transfer education, highlighted the center’s role as a hub for excellence in education and workforce development. She emphasized its importance in preparing individuals for the demands of the modern transportation and agricultural industry.

During the ceremony, remarks were shared by Idaho Lt. Governor Scott Bedke, CSI President L. Dean Fisher, Twin Falls Vice Mayor Jason Brown, and others. The new center, covering approximately 28,000 square feet, will house the college’s Heavy Equipment Ag Technology and Diesel Technology programs. It will also support industry training and expand dual credit collaborations with the Twin Falls School District.

Funding for this project comes from the Idaho Department of Public Works and CSI, with a total budget of $15 million. Starr Corporation will oversee the construction management of the project. Lieutenant Governor Bedke noted that there are currently 600 job openings in this field in Idaho, emphasizing the high demand for well-trained employees. The center is expected to open in October 2025.
