Full-back Tom Davies has recently signed a new one-year contract with Cardiff City after featuring seven times for Kilmarnock during the 2023-24 season in all competitions. The Wales Under-21 defender made his senior debut for Cardiff City in a Carabao Cup match against Sutton United in 2021.
Following his debut, Davies went on loan to Pontypridd United and then had a successful season-long loan with Kilmarnock. His performances with Kilmarnock impressed the Cardiff City coaching staff, leading to the offer of a new contract. Speaking to Cardiff City TV, Davies expressed his delight at staying with the club he has been a part of for almost a decade. He emphasized his desire to establish himself in the first team and build on his previous experiences.
The left-back’s new contract will keep him with Cardiff City until at least the summer of 2025, with an option for an additional 12-month extension. Davies mentioned his childhood affinity for the club, having attended games growing up and now getting the opportunity to train alongside players he admired from his youth. He is keen to follow in the footsteps of teammates who broke into the first team last season and hopes to make his mark in the upcoming season.
