Sutton United have signed free agent Dillon De Silva on a permanent contract, the 22-year-old Sri Lanka international most recently played for Wealdstone. De Silva, who scored two goals in eight appearances for the Stones, had been in negotiations with the club over extending his short-term contract. Sutton, who were relegated from League Two this season, have welcomed the forward to their team while Wealdstone finished 16th in the National League.

Sutton manager Steve Morison expressed his excitement about De Silva’s arrival, stating that the club’s recruitment process identified De Silva towards the end of the season and they were impressed with what they saw in him. De Silva, born in London, came through the academy at Queens Park Rangers but never made a senior appearance for the Hoops. After a loan spell at Torquay United which was made permanent last year, he scored five goals in 41 appearances.

Having won 14 caps for Sri Lanka and scoring twice for his national team, De Silva brings international experience to Sutton United. The club will be looking to benefit from his talents as they navigate their way through the challenges of the upcoming season.
