A senior executive at Fox News has left the company after an investigation into a violation of business conduct. John Finley, who had been with the network for over 20 years, served as the executive vice president of development. A Fox News spokesperson confirmed the departure, stating that Finley had violated certain standards of business conduct. The specifics of the violation were not provided, but according to an unnamed source familiar with the investigation, it involved the misuse of Finley’s position for personal gain. Finley did not comment on the matter.

During his time at Fox News, Finley played a significant role in the launch of Fox Nation, the network’s subscription streaming service, in 2018. He also contributed to the development of several popular shows, including The Five, Hannity, Outnumbered, The Greg Gutfeld Show, Hannity & Colmes, Hannity’s America, The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton, and Life, Liberty & Levin. In 2019, he was promoted to EVP of development and had oversight of Fox Nation. However, in 2021, Jason Klarman took over as president of the streaming service, assuming responsibility for all operations, content, and subscription acquisition. Despite this change, Finley remained involved in developing shows and feature films for Fox Nation.

In 2019, it was revealed that Finley had been investigated for misconduct in 2011. However, after a thorough investigation by Human Resources, no evidence was found to support the allegation, and Finley was cleared. The recent departure of Finley marks another chapter in Fox News’s ongoing efforts to address issues of workplace misconduct.
