Death of Princess Lalla Latifa, mother of King Mohammed VI of Morocco

Morocco is currently mourning the loss of Princess Lalla Latifa, the widow of Hassan II and mother of King Mohammed VI. Born Latifa Amahzoune, Lalla Latifa became a princess when she married King Hassan II on November 9, 1961. The couple had five children together: Princesses Lalla Meryem, Lalla Asmaa, Lalla Hasnaa, Prince Moulay Rachid, and the current King of Morocco, Mohammed VI. According to Africa Intelligence, Lalla Latifa had a residence in the Paris region, where King Mohammed VI visited her in 2022 as her health was declining.
