Debbi Honey, RN, was recently named as one of the 90 Patient Safety Experts to Know by Becker’s Hospital Review. She has been serving as the senior vice president and chief nursing officer of Covenant Health since October 2017. According to Becker’s Hospital Review, the experts on this list are known for advocating for patient harm reduction, disease management, and disaster preparedness.
Honey has been actively involved in initiatives that have led to significant improvements in patient safety indicators and the overall patient experience. Her role includes overseeing the quality and safety of nursing operations within the health system and implementing standardized processes to enhance patient care and operational support throughout Covenant Health. She is also focused on developing clinical leadership at both local and national levels.
Honey received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She holds certifications in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) and as a Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), in addition to being a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
