The Delaware State Police arrested 24-year-old Jacob Singleton of Bear, Delaware for felony criminal mischief at a Townsend business that occurred last week. The incident took place on June 27, 2024, at around 7:10 p.m. Troopers responded to Drake’s Towing, located at 4195 Dupont Parkway, Townsend, for a report of criminal mischief. It was discovered that Singleton had become upset upon finding the business closed for the day. In his anger, he caused several thousand dollars in damage to the business, including shattering a window with a chair. Singleton then fled the scene in a black sedan.
Through investigative efforts, troopers identified Singleton as the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. On June 30, 2024, Singleton was apprehended by the New Castle County Police Department and taken to Troop 2. He was charged with felony criminal mischief totaling $5,000 or more and third-degree criminal trespass. Singleton was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and imprisoned at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $6,001 secured bond.
